The event will be held at the Perth Arena in Australia Jan. 1 through Jan. 7, 2017.

At 34, Federer is coming off two semifinal Grand Slam losses, both in Wimbledon and Australian Open. It will mark the first time in 15 years that Federer has competed in the Hopman Cup, which was in 2002 with his wife, Mirka. He won the event in 2001 at 19 years old, partnering with Martina Hingis. In 2017, he will team with Belinda Bencic, who ranks in the top 20 in the women’s world standings.
